A Menace To The Global Economy
The city-state of Singapore, historically an IP champion according to leading international indicators, is seeking to impose anti-brand regulations known as “plain packaging.” This is bad enough, but the removal of branding will not be focused only on tobacco products. Singapore has also initiated public consultations regarding sugar-sweetened beverages such as soda. The proposal goes so far as to ask the public to consider a complete ban on such beverage trademarks.
